During the presentation, Ms. Thornton explained how gerrymandering helps to win elections by forcing the opposing party to waste votes. She gave examples of highly gerrymandered districts and offered historical data from past elections. Finally she took a close look at New York State and provided steps to track the redistricting process and hold our legislators accountable.
